3 tbsp. corn starch

Salt

1 tsp. paprika

1 tsp. ground black pepper

Whisk all the ingredients well.

Tip: You can make the required amount of ingredients for the coating. Use a little at a time and keep the rest in an airtight container.

Shape the nuggets; now coat really well and fry. Fry 4 to 5 minutes on medium heat, turning twice. Using a slotted spoon, remove from the oil and place on some paper towel. Yummylicious!

Mastering the perfect crispness!

The secret to this irresistibly crispy hake nuggets. It’s all in the double coating! First, each nugget is dipped into beaten eggs, then coated generously with this breading. This extra layer locks in the crunch, giving you that satisfying golden crisp with every bite. It’s this homemade touch that elevates simple fish nuggets into something truly special.

Achieving that golden perfection!

For nuggets that are crispy outside and tender inside, the right oil temperature is key. Medium heat ensures a beautiful golden crust without burning. I made sure not to overcrowd the pan, allowing each nugget to cook evenly and develop that perfect crunch. With a little patience and attention, these crispy fried hake nuggets turned out just right—golden, crunchy, and absolutely delicious!

Serving up crispy fried hake nuggets with love!

When these golden, crispy hake nuggets come out of the pan, that’s when the magic really begins. Serving them isn’t just about placing them on a plate—it’s about creating an experience. A simple squeeze of fresh lemon can brighten up the flavors, while a side of garlic and herb dip or a spicy chili sauce takes things up a notch. There’s no one way to enjoy them—mixing and matching dipping sauces makes every bite exciting!

Garnishes matter too. A sprinkle of fresh coriander or a light dusting of paprika doesn’t just make the plate look inviting; it adds an extra layer of flavor that ties everything together. The way you present your homemade hake nuggets turns a simple dish into something truly special. It’s about more than just food—it’s about sharing something made with love and care, turning a casual meal into a feast worth remembering.
