Did you know 80% of New Year’s resolutions fail?

Very strange. Maybe you’re that statistic. Being excited and ready for change yet falling back into old habits after a few weeks. Year after year, I tried to change but failed, but not last year.

A few days ago, I found a 2022 New Year’s Eve letter to myself stating my 2023 goals. I told them my business goals, who I wanted around me, and, most importantly, how I wanted to feel. I was surprised by how much I had done. Although my letter was ambitious, I saw that my vision, concentration, and aspirations guided me throughout the year.

My goals in prior years included exercising three times a week, eating well, and abandoning bad habits. Concrete outcomes. This time, I focused on learning and enjoying myself while working for my dream future. Simply put, keep me happy while pursuing a fascinating future. When setting a goal, I also defined how it should feel.

Instead of “I’m going to exercise three times per week,” I put “I’m going to love my body and take really good care of it by practicing yoga, dancing, or doing other activities I feel drawn to do.”

Become more aware of the things that you already possess.

Concentrating on scarcity is a simple task. in order to direct your attention toward the things that you do not have in your life at the moment. We frequently find ourselves in a state of scarcity as a result of the fact that we live in a filtered, hyper-commercialized, and social media-controlled world. On the other hand, Oprah once stated, “Be thankful for what you have; you’ll end up having more and more.” If you focus on the things that you do not own, you will never, ever have enough of them.

Affluence is not something that can be brought about. The item is something that you tune into. Begin to take notice of, concentrate on, and genuinely appreciate the things that are now occurring in your life. I’m going to make it a point to prioritise the people I care about, the fact that I’m in good health, and the knowledge that I have the ability to determine the course that my life takes.

Get your creative juices flowing by employing your imagination.

Recognize that the rhythm of everyday movement is a symphony of self-care, and embrace it. Every action is a note in the music of happiness and contentment.

The power of imagination cannot be overstated. You have the option of either being shown the worst possible scenario or being given the opportunity to play, explore, and be creative with your own thoughts. It is possible for your imagination to serve as either your most powerful instrument in bringing your aspirations into reality or your most formidable obstacle.

Rather than destroy, use it to create. Utilize it to stir up faith rather than skepticism. Employ it to transform yourself into a positive force, not just for yourself but also for people around you. For instance, rather than concentrating on everything that can go wrong if you start your own business, try to picture how happy you would feel and all of the people you will be able to assist.

Become more present in your life.

We frequently live in the past or future tense. The majority of the time, we are so preoccupied with what has occurred or what may occur that we fail to recognize what is actually taking place. Begin to genuinely live your life in the here and now, where it actually happens. Feeling, hearing, seeing, tasting, and touching are all senses that may be utilized to bring about a state of presence.

Regardless of how inconsequential it may appear to be, you should always say yes to what you are doing. Make the act of washing the dishes the most important thing in your life at the moment that you are doing it. Put yourself in a position where you are the most essential in your life while you are transferring yourself. Put the person you are talking to at the top of your priority list whenever you are in conversation with them.

Begin to disregard the actions of other people.

It is easy to get caught up in the tendency to compare things. With the intention of judging, blaming, or feeling sorry for oneself while looking at other people. However, we do not cultivate green grass by concentrating on the garden of our neighbor; rather, we do it by tending to our own garden.

When comparing your behind-the-scenes experience to someone else’s most memorable event, you should avoid doing so. Instead, make the decision to value your life by cultivating it, making investments in it, and taking care of it. Simply put, make sure you don’t lose sight of your lane.

Make it a point to be completely truthful with yourself.

To begin the process of altering anything, it is necessary to first recognize what it means to take a look at the event in its current state without making it any worse than it already is. Confront your anxieties, restrictions, and obstacles head-on and face them in the eye.

What strategies are successful, and which ones are not? What is it that you want to undertake that will bring you to your knees with fear? Give yourself credit for the things that are working, and then consider how you might improve the things that aren’t working. The truth, as the proverb goes, will lead to your freedom. On the other hand, it might cause you pain or annoyance.

It is time to begin labeling things more accurately.

Tell me about the spectacles you are wearing. The hopeful, the terrified, or the pair that says, “I can’t do this.” The way in which we choose to perceive things determines the way in which we experience life. It is possible that losing one’s employment will either be a difficulty or a wonderful opportunity. A breakup may either signify the conclusion of a relationship or the start of something new.

Increase your control by identifying things. To turn a terrible event into a gift. You must learn to change a difficult situation into a challenge and an ending into a new beginning. Own your experiences.

Share tales that are empowering.

Continuing from the last point, take note of the narratives that are currently circulating in your life. It might be about your parents, your current financial status, or your current health state. We are defined by the tales that we tell. Stories that empower people generate situations that empower people.

I used to persuade myself that “I wasn’t ready” to accomplish things in my business, such as launch goods or lead workshops. This was one of the stories I told myself. When I shifted my narrative to read, “I’ll do the best I can and learn along the way,” I came to the realization that it was possible for me to take action and broaden my comfort zone.

Take a look at one aspect of your life that you would like to alter. What kind of narrative do you tell yourself about this particular region? What are some ways that you may convey a tale that is more empowering?

Begin to concentrate on something that is more important than you.

Whether it be for what we do, how we do it, or why we do it, we either show up for what we do in life. Having the last one, often known as “the why,” specified is what gives purpose and significance to the situation. What are you trying to accomplish, what kind of change do you want to see, or why are you pursuing something?

Being a part of something bigger than yourself and having a clear understanding of why you are doing it gives you a sense of purpose. In addition, if you are not yet aware of what that something bigger is, you should make it your job to discover it.

Be self-conscious.

Stand strong against societal norms. Your authenticity is your power; let it shine. Be true to yourself, live boldly, and embrace the unique journey that is entirely your own.

Are you someone who genuinely cares about yourself? Do you behave, speak, and treat yourself in a manner that is consistent with the kind and caring person that you are? Because, here’s the thing: we are unable to give up what we do not possess. In the same way that we must first put on our own oxygen masks while we are in the air, we must first take care of ourselves before we can attend to the needs of other people.

You should be aware that putting oneself first is not an act of selfishness; rather, it is essential. Take into consideration your mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual elements. Which of the following do you require more or less of in order to feel good? After that, make it a top priority to take care of yourself (so that you may also contribute from a true place).

Begin to have faith that other people are doing the best they can.

Have faith that everyone is doing the best they can given their experiences, beliefs, and the circumstances of their lives. It’s possible that the individual who cut you off in traffic was in a hurry to get home to a sick family member or friend. It is possible that the individual who failed to present his project on time is going through a difficult moment. It is possible that the individual who was impolite to you while you were waiting in line is having a particularly difficult day.

There is no way to know what another person is going through. Therefore, rather than forming assumptions, you should have faith that they are doing the best that they can. When you lead from a place of compassion rather than judgment, you will spare yourself (and others) the needless suffering, wrath, and frustration that would otherwise be experienced.

It is time to start caring about things that are truly important.

If you place an excessive amount of importance on things like criticism and judgment, you will essentially keep yourself locked and immobilized until you decide to discover other things that you care more about.

For instance, do you place a higher priority on living your life in accordance with who you are or on what other people might think? Which is more important to you: being a positive influence in this world or being the recipient of nasty comments? Instead of numbing your caring, you should focus more of your attention on the things that are truly important to you.

Make the decision to put your whole faith in yourself.

It is necessary to provide nourishment, care, and attention to the connection that you have with yourself, just as it is with any other relationship. Trust that everything that is occurring to you is happening for a reason, especially if you are feeling interested, fascinated, or pleased about it. It is important to have faith that there is a reason for everything that is occurring to you, whether it be a person or a scenario.

Begin to behave as though you have complete faith in yourself. Behave as if you are completely in touch with your inner self and that you are being directed at all times. The more you demonstrate that you have faith and confidence in yourself, the more of those qualities will come to fruition for you.

Begin to rejoice as you overcome your challenges.

How to Overcome Adversity and Grow Spiritually - David Jeremiah Blog

“Obstacles are not meant to obstruct the path; rather, they are the path.” I was really confused when I first heard this Zen proverb for the first time. In what ways may this journey be obstructed? To me, the concept that an impediment is not something that is blocking the route but rather something that is truly the way seems like a foreign language.

Nevertheless, I came to the realization that desires are really potent. We are always being directed by life in the direction of what we desire; yet, during this process, our anxieties and obstacles will be brought to the surface so that they can be recognized and/or healed. Therefore, when you are confronted with a challenge, such as dread, you should not try to escape it. Instead, you should challenge yourself to get through it. You will go one step closer to achieving your goals with each challenge that you overcome.

Take the first step toward gaining perspective on your issues.

The phrase “the problem with problems is that we think we’re not supposed to have any” was once said by someone, and I remember hearing it. It’s true that problems don’t always feel fantastic, but they are what are driving us ahead. In order to uncover, study, and explore better solutions, they cast light on what isn’t functioning and provide us with information about it.

Take a minute to remind yourself that people are fighting for their lives all across the world whenever you find yourself in a difficult situation. Recognize the issues you are facing, but then go on to find a solution to those issues. To what extent do you require advancement? Where can you find clarity, confidence, and support to continue forward, and from whom can you obtain these things?

Begin to accept and embrace your own vulnerability.

It’s terrifying to be vulnerable. Nevertheless, it is the entryway to development, transformation, and connection. It is the very last thing that we want to exhibit in ourselves, yet it is the very first thing that we search for in other people. It is impossible to ignore feelings of hurt, guilt, and disappointment without simultaneously obstructing love, development, and connection.

Consequently, muster the courage to let the most vulnerable and profound aspects of yourself be seen. When you give your heart permission to break open completely, a wonderful thing will take place: you will be able to transmute challenging emotions into love, strength, and compassion.

During the previous week, I had the opportunity to meet a female at the shared office area where I am employed. Even though it was the second time we had met, I immediately felt compelled to talk about the difficulty I was going through at the time, which was that I was not feeling enough for my business and for certain individuals in my life. It would appear that she was going through the same things simultaneously. I had a sense of relief, empowerment, and a deeper connection to her than I had before I went.

Spending time with people is a tasteful experience.

I was wondering how the people you spend the most time with are doing. Do they provide you with energy, or do they deplete you? Relationships and friendships are not something that remain unchanged; rather, they are always experiencing change. Set a high bar for yourself and make the conscious decision to only spend time with individuals you like spending time with.

You should make it a point to surround yourself with a group of people that share your values and beliefs, as well as the things you want to accomplish and the things you do. If you do not have that available to you at this moment, then you should make room in your life for those individuals to enter it.

Make a conscious effort to accept complete responsibility for your life.

What Happens When You Take Full Responsibility of Your Life | Cleverism

When I received this information for the first time, I did not feel at ease. The moment I came to terms with it, however, I felt a sense of empowerment. It might be challenging to acknowledge and accept complete responsibility for every aspect of your life, including the areas in which you believe you have been mistreated, behind, or wronged. But this is the only way to bring about a change in them.

Through accepting responsibility, you are able to reclaim your power and return it to the place where it originally belonged to you. Therefore, acknowledge that you are fully responsible for your life, regardless of how challenging it may appear to be. You, and not someone else, will be the ones to get you to the destination you choose.

Get a head start on building the life you want right now.

It’s simple to put off until later. For the purpose of deceiving ourselves into believing that “Once my circumstances change, I will give my dream a try” or “Once I am in a relationship, I will begin to love myself,” However, in order to live the life that you want, you are going to have to build it right now, rather than waiting until some point in the future.

There will never be a perfect combination of conditions or time. The question that you should ask yourself instead is, “If I had all the love, money, time, confidence, and knowledge that I desire, how would I think, act, and feel under those circumstances?” Make the transition into that version of yourself.

Wise Words!

To reach your destination, walk that way. Consider it a marathon, not a sprint. How can you make the year go smoothly with delight rather than pressure? Avoid setting lofty expectations or expecting perfection. They never are. Instead, pick one to three items from the list. After getting used to one location, try another. Keep in mind that consistency beats intensity.

Make this year your year of success!
