We all have those days where we feel like giving up, where the struggle seems too great and the obstacles too insurmountable. It’s in these moments that we need a little extra encouragement to keep going, to keep pushing through the challenges, and to believe that brighter days are just around the corner. They offer hope, inspiration, and motivation to keep going, no matter how tough things may seem. No matter how difficult the journey may be, it is always worth it to keep fighting, to keep striving, and to keep moving forward.
“So let’s remind ourselves to never give up.”
Wisdom
To be like the rock that the waves continue to pound. It stands motionless, and the raging sea falls silently around it. For centuries, people have pondered why and how we are supposed to live.
What exactly does it mean to persevere?
Why is this so agonizing? ‘How come I can’t stand it?’ You’ll be ashamed to respond. He was able to uphold his moral code internally. He accepted that he had no control over his external circumstances.
Instead, he learned to control his thoughts and feelings. That is tenacity. It’s more than just “getting through it. It’s getting through it while keeping your morals and humanity intact. Stoicism brings in strength rather than apathy.
How do we keep going?
How to Persist Accept your journey. “Rather than wishing for things to happen the way you want them to, wish for things to happen the way they happen.” As previously stated, adversity allows you to reveal your true character.
So, embrace adversity. You should be happy with your fate. Embrace every single moment, even the bad ones. We had a slim chance of existing, but here we are. But now you’re here. You’ve already overcome seemingly impossible odds.
Your presence is both rare and beautiful. So, even our pain is unique and beautiful. Accepting your fate does not necessarily imply that you are okay with bad things happening to you.
It means you accept that struggling is a natural part of life. We can use this to persevere because it gives us the courage to act, and loving and appreciating every moment demonstrates that we are not helpless.
We are only beginning to understand what it means to be alive.
Everything that happens is either bearable or unbearable.
If it’s bearable, then bear it. Stop grumbling. If it’s unbearable… stop whining. Your demise will also be the end of it. Remember you can endure anything your mind can make bearable by treating it as if it were in your best interest to do so.
In your best interests or nature. You either persevere or you don’t. Regardless, complaining does not always work in your favour. Yes, feel your emotions.
Yes, confide in others. But don’t tell yourself you’re going to fail. Don’t tell anyone else you’re going to fail. Don’t tell anyone that this particular struggle is the end of you.
Complaining, in fact, makes it more difficult to bear. You can endure anything if you believe it is endurable. You are defeating yourself if you allow yourself to complain. You might be able to get through something if you complain.
However, this will not preserve your good nature. To be virtuous in the face of adversity, we must first master our own minds.
Recognize that it is not the end of the world!
“Never say, ‘I have lost it,’ but rather, ‘I have returned it.” Well, isn’t that also returned? Although harsh, there is a lesson here.
Avoid taking things personally. Things are not taken from you, but rather returned to you. After all, the universe existed before us and will continue to exist after us.
Similarly, we existed before our current struggle and will continue to exist after it. Life can be a pain at times, but you have to keep going. We live despite and because of how bad life is.
Life will not always be painful, but it is unavoidable. When we miss an opportunity, the best thing we can do is live virtuously regardless of the circumstances. This problem will be resolved. You will come to an end.
We can only control how we react to it!
Don’t just sit there taking it!
Putting things off is the biggest waste of life, it robs us of each day as it arrives and denies us the present by promising the future.
The greatest impediment to living is hope, which is based on the future and ignores the present.
You are arranging what is under your control and abandoning what is not. What exactly are you looking at? What are you striving for? The entire future is uncertain, so live now.
We need to remind ourselves that we do have some control over our lives. By deferring action, we give our suffering complete control. We are regaining control by working to end our suffering.
Persistence is active. We do not persevere by shutting down until the situation is resolved. We persevere by responding to our difficulties rationally.
We keep going by determining the most moral course of action. Persist right away.
Don’t just want better, demand better!
How long will you wait before demanding the best for yourself and, in no case, ignoring the discriminations of reason. You have been given the principles that you should support, and you have done so.
What kind of teacher are you still looking for to refer your self-improvement to?
You are no longer a boy, but a mature man. If you are careless and lazy now, putting things off and always deferring the day when you attend to yourself, you will not notice that you are making no progress, but you will live and die as an ordinary person.
We may want to give up on ourselves when we are struggling. We could reach an agreement.
We may become accustomed to things being fine and give up on pursuing a good life. This is intolerable. As previously stated, you can either persevere or give up.
We are all going to demise at some point. We can demise ordinary death or if we choose not to persevere.
Everything comes to an end, but there is strength in the decision to keep going. Adversity can either end because we act to end it, or it can kill us. We have some say over when our pain will end.
We must insist on overcoming this adversity!
Clean up a little in your room. Request better treatment. Take care of yourself and advocate for yourself. We cannot become accustomed to pain.
We can accept the existence of suffering, but we must still fight it. Don’t get too comfortable. Stop punishing yourself. We suffer not from events in our lives, but from our reactions to them. Perhaps the majority of our pain is self-inflicted.
When problems arise, we sometimes take them personally. It is necessary to accept responsibility for actions that cause suffering, but you can do so without suffering.
Instead of saying, “I lost my job because I’m lazy and stupid, say, I lost my job because I didn’t meet the requirements. The difference between those two sentences is that one reports a decision while the other reports a fact. When we can rationally map out why things happen, we suffer less. Calling ourselves stupid for allowing something to happen does nothing but make us feel worse.
Challenges usually occur solely for the purpose of causing challenges. Taking it personally makes actively resolving the problem more difficult. Recognizing that we are not entirely to blame can give us the confidence to act.
Make use of your resources!
People look beyond the incident and strive to develop the habit of putting it to good use. When an unintentional event occurs, instead of reacting haphazardly, remember to turn inward and ask what resources you have for dealing with it. Investigate thoroughly. You have abilities that you may not be aware of. Find the best one and put it to use. When things get tough, we go into fight or flight mode. The advantage of being human is that we can be rational.
Do not enter survival mode!
Take a deep breath and remember that you can demonstrate your virtue in public. Not everything necessitates a reaction. Furthermore, not everything requires an immediate response. While persevering, you can still take your time deciding what to do. Unless it is life or death, you do not need to react immediately. Allow it to simmer.
Perseverance!
We are often more afraid than hurt, and we suffer more in our imaginations than in reality. Meanwhile, cling to the following rule tooth and nail, never give in to adversity and never trust prosperity. Take full note of fortune’s habit of behaving exactly as we please.
Whatever you’ve been expecting for a while comes as less of a surprise. I consider you unfortunate because you have never experienced misfortune.
You have gone through life without facing a challenge, no one, not even you, knows what you are capable of. People are disturbed not by things, but by their perceptions of them. You must build your life action by action, and you must be satisfied.
If each one achieves its goal as far as possible, and no one can stop you. But there will be an external impediment! Perhaps, but that is no impediment to acting with justice, self-control, and wisdom.
But what if another aspect of my plan is thwarted? Accept the obstacle for what it is and shift your focus to what is given, and another action will immediately take its place, one that is more appropriate for the life you are creating.
You are not required to make this into anything. It does not have to bother you.
The key is to become indifferent to what doesn’t matter!
To make the most of what we have and accept the rest as it comes. Life can be a series of challenges and setbacks, testing our resilience and determination.
To keep going in the face of adversity, it is essential to cultivate wisdom. Wisdom is the ability to gain insight, make sound judgments, and maintain a balanced perspective.
It reminds us that every experience, whether positive or negative, offers an opportunity for growth and learning. When we encounter obstacles, wisdom encourages us to view them as stepping stones rather than stumbling blocks.
It teaches us to embrace change, adapt to new circumstances, and find creative solutions.
In Conclusion!
Wisdom reminds us to prioritize self-care, nurturing our physical, mental, and emotional well-being, as it is only when we are in harmony with ourselves that we can face challenges with resilience. It prompts us to seek support and guidance from trusted mentors or loved ones, recognizing that we are not alone in our journey. Moreover, wisdom encourages us to maintain a sense of gratitude, finding beauty and joy even in the midst of difficulties. It reminds us that setbacks are temporary, and that every step forward, no matter how small, brings us closer to our goals. With wisdom as our guide, we can find the strength to keep going, overcome obstacles, and embrace the journey of life with courage and resilience.
