Mutton mince (ground meat) is not only one of the most versatile meat products, but it is also the most economical choice, especially for family meals. Ideal for pasta dishes, burgers, and curry too. Although mince meat is considered economical, it is still quite expensive when shopping on a limited basis. I sometimes buy a bigger quantity and package it into small portions; using different methods for expanding the quantities of meat curries, I often add potatoes and peas, gadra beans, or double beans. This mince curry recipe contains peas and potatoes. Cooking meat curries was simple: they had to contain ginger, garlic, and curry leaves.

- 1 tbsp. biryani mix
- 1 tbsp. garam masala
- 1 tbsp. coriander powder
- Salt
- Ground ginger and garlic paste

Instructions
- Cover the base of your pot with oil. Add the whole spices to the oil and fry.
- Add sliced onions and sauté until translucent.
- Add tomatoes and curry leaves, giving them a mix, and allow them to cook until the tomatoes are mushy.
- Add ginger & garlic and mix well. Now add the mutton mince. Mix well, incorporating all the spices into the mince.
- Allow the mince to simmer on low heat for 10 minutes. Stir the curry and add water, giving the curry a mix, and cook until the curry comes to a boil.
- Add the potatoes, giving the curry a gentle stir, and allow to cook until the potatoes are tender on medium heat.
- Now add the peas to the curry, simmer on low for 5 minutes, and switch off the heat, leaving the pot on the stove.
- Drizzle with chopped coriander.
Tip!
I added 1 tablespoon of homemade butter. The recipe for the butter is on my website.
My children wanted to know what I did differently. It sure was homemade butter that gave this curry a creamy texture.
